More About Us
Since the airpark changed ownership in 2017, owners and community members alike have rallied to expand “The Community in the Woods” which caters to aviation enthusiasts. During a time in which small airports are gradually disappearing beneath the stress of economic and policy changes, we are dedicated to keeping our airpark open for future aviationists to enjoy. As a result, we have become involved in a range of local political campaigns and organizations geared towards preserving small airports. |
Maintaining our airport for public use is of the utmost importance to us, which is why cleaning up the grounds and runway has taken precedence. However, more significant projects are underway, such as subtle land clearing and the proposed construction of hangers on the northeast corner of the airpark. Sign up for our monthly newsletter for more updates on our upcoming projects.
Amongst locals, the airpark and surrounding businesses have been fondly nicknamed "The Community in the Woods." Historically, aviationists would fly into the airpark for the afternoon to visit Mukilteo Coffee Roaster's Cafe in the Woods for the locally famous "100 dollar burger." In more recent years, Mukilteo Coffee Roasters has transitioned into focusing on their coffee roasting, but the ideals of maintaining community oriented spaces has remained a focus of the businesses alongside the airport.
