It is great to see the long days return, with clear skies and lots of people out enjoying their airplanes!
Saturday Social First off, a reminder that our monthly Saturday Social at The Muk is this coming Saturday May 4th at 10am. Nothing formal planned, just come by and hang out with your fellow aviators. If there is interest and the weather is good, maybe we will go for a flight together afterwards? We have been out of town for the last few, so are looking forward to seeing you all and catching up with the latest local news. Last month's Social with AC1 Ryan Leonard from NAS Whidbey was great, and we truly appreciate his attendance. A copy of the presentation he gave can be found here: NAS Whidbey Presentation April 2019 Carl Lee is going to see if he can get FAA Wings credit for those who participated in that presentation. If you were there, and want to be sure to get credit, let us know and we will keep you in the loop. (Thanks Carl for looking into this for us!) W10 "Gardening Club" - Sunday May 5 We are often asked if there are projects around the field that people can help with. We have a long list in fact, with great variety of skill sets from mechanical, to electrical, to research/planning. If you have an interest, let us know and we can try to find a project that is both fun for you, and beneficial to the airport. Starting in May though, we are going to try to organize some small outdoor work parties for anyone that wants to come out and get their hands dirty for a couple hours. The "Gardening Club" is a bit tongue-in-cheek as it will often involve heavy machinery. =) This month, we figured we would start with something light and easy(ish), with removal of the invasive Scotch broom from the field. Bring some gloves, and if you have a shovel or loppers (and any great tips for removal) and join us down on the runway at 10am this Sunday. We may do some raking/clearing/cleaning of the campsite if the Scotch broom comes out quickly. All for now. Blue Skies! Sky and Tara Rudolph
