Summer is in full swing here at W10!
We have been making headway on many projects around the field but it's been especially fun for us to observe all the aviation activity going on.

Saturday Social
Don't forget that our Saturday Social at The Muk is this Saturday August 3rd at 10am.  Grab some coffee and some grub and just hang out with fellow aviation enthusiasts.  And if the weather is nice, and there is interest, maybe we will go for a flight afterwards?

Private Pilot Ground School(!)
Need to get ready to pass your FAA written exam?  Are you a frequent GA passenger that is just curious about what's happening in the background of your flight or want to know more in the event of an emergency?  Are you a pilot searching for a bit of updated information or a refresher?  Then you need to join us starting August 6th for Ground School.  This is a 10 week course being held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm - 8pm.  Discount available for South Whidbey Flying Club members.  If you need more information please contact Dave Bennett at [email protected] or Tara or Sky Rudolph at W10 via email at [email protected] or call us at 360-321-0510.  This is coming up quick so don't delay in getting your questions answered.

Taxiway Talks
We are excited to announce the first of many Taxiway Talks here at W10.  Join us at the fire pit on the West side of the field on Sunday August 18th at 12 noon for some campfire weenie roasting and discussion.  Our very first guest speaker is Peter Morton.  View a flyer for a bio on Peter Morton and why this would be a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon here.  Hot dogs, buns, water (still and sparkling), chips and coffee provided.  We will, again, look into seeing if we can acquire WINGS credit for these events....stay tuned for that.

Little Big Fest
This weekend (August 2-4) is Little BIG Fest at the Porter Public House on the south end of the field.  For more information and a schedule of events check out www.LittleBIGFest.org.  Pilots are welcome to camp under wing and the campsite on the east side of the runway is now equipped with a fire pit for use while camping.  The west side tie down area and fire pit are also available.

Student Solo!
Congratulations Byron on your first solo flight!!!  We look forward to seeing you soaring around in those blue skies.  Way to go!

W10 Garden Club
The last W10 Garden Club was a great success, and we appreciate greatly those that came out to help.  We would also like to make a shout out to QuickSilver Construction that provided some machinery to assist in the effort.

We are working on plans for the next W10 Garden Club activity, and will announce that when we are ready.

We hope to see you out at some of these events, and out flying while the weather is nice.
Blue Skies!
